It often happens that in the middle of a job you find yourself having finished your diamond blade, so you run out to buy another one, wasting time and money. Even worse if this happens when it is not expected. “I just mounted a new blade and it is already finished”; ATTENTION: by rapid wear we mean the situation in which the diamond segment is completely finished. (if the segment is still present but does not cut we will talk about a DISC THAT DOES NOT CUT ). This situation occurs especially when the diamond blade is of low quality and too soft for the material being cut.
But what are the causes and solutions if your disk LASTS TOO SHORT?
THE CAUSES could be four:
- If your blade is designed for wet cutting, there is not enough water or too much dirt.
- Your diamond blade has lost its roundness or concentricity.
- The metal powders that act as a binder wear out too quickly and therefore the diamond is also released incorrectly.
- The rotation speed of the machine is too slow and consequently also the cutting
THE SOLUTIONS are as follows:
- Increase the water flow and check if the water used is not too muddy.
- Immediately check the condition of the machine, whether the belt and bearings are well maintained and whether the recommended peripheral speeds are the same as those reported on the machine used.
- Check that the diamond blade you are using is suitable for the material you are cutting and whether it is designed for wet or dry cutting.
