SMERIGLIATRICE : QUALI DISCHI UTILIZZARE

Grinder: which disc to use

The angle grinder or "flex" is a power tool available to all businesses that need to cut, grind, or sand different or specific materials. Today, we'll take a closer look at which discs can be used on the flex and for which applications.

Angle grinder: abrasive discs

The first discs we'll look at are abrasive discs for angle grinders. These black discs are specifically designed for grinding or cutting metals and steels.

Each grinder works at a certain RPM , which must be compatible with the mounted disc.

Flap abrasive discs

The grinding disc is often equipped with a lowered flange for horizontal use. You'll notice a mesh on the contact area, allowing you to use the product even on the edges of steel and metals. Its most common use is to remove burrs or grind excess welds. Today, most of these grinding discs have been replaced by flap discs with different grits. These products allow you to choose the level of finish you want to achieve.

Nord Srl has a very high-quality product with different grain sizes: 40, 60, 80, 120. Our YZK has a fiber flange and is a Made in Italy product to comply with high safety standards.

Abrasive cutting discs for grinders

Abrasive cutting discs, on the other hand, are very thin, typically 1.6 to 1.0 mm thick. They also offer maximum performance on ferrous materials such as metals or steels. Our YST is a high-performance product with a thickness of 1.0 mm. It can also be used on stainless steel, metal, and iron without applying pressure to the power tool . This product is also made in Italy to meet the highest safety and reliability standards.

Angle grinder cutting discs allow you to cut even very soft materials, such as plastic or PVC pipes. This type of disc also allows you to grind, smooth, and refine the cut if there is a burr on the surface.

Grinder: diamond discs

Diamond discs or disks for grinders are ideal for cutting hard and abrasive materials such as: concrete, brick, granite and stone, marble and ceramic or porcelain stoneware tiles.

Turbo diamond discs

Turbo diamond blades for flex are the most commonly used. This type of tool allows you to make very fine and fast cuts with ease. The continuous turbo rim is ideal for dry cutting and allows for rapid tool cooling.

Universal turbo diamond discs for grinders

Nord Srl has been manufacturing diamond blades in Italy since 1960. Universal turbo diamond blades for angle grinders are the most widely used.

The diamond crown formula is composed of soft metal powders so that it can adapt to different materials such as concrete, brick, tiles, natural stone and ceramic.

Turbo diamond blades for ceramic and porcelain stoneware

Diamond blades for porcelain stoneware are very thin. La Nord Srl products are specifically designed for fast, clean cutting of porcelain stoneware up to 2 cm thick. The cutting thickness varies depending on the model.

Our KTRDO has a cutting thickness of 1.2 mm and is suitable for all types of porcelain stoneware, even those with a very glassy and delicate marble effect. The KT has a cutting thickness of 1.3 mm and is very soft and suitable for quickly cutting stoneware with thicknesses of 2 cm or more. Our KSP, on the other hand, is designed for 45° or mitre cuts on porcelain stoneware tiles or slabs. Its reinforced flange allows for excellent performance even on angled cuts.

Turbo diamond blades for granite and natural stone

Our flagship product, the GRGL, is the ultimate diamond blade for granite and natural stone. This product offers optimal cutting performance on granite, gneiss, or marble tiles or countertops. The diamond core is specially formulated to ensure a clean, crisp cut and a long lifespan.
