FAQ | MY DIAMOND BLADE WON'T CUT?
FAQ | Diamond blade not cutting? Are you having trouble using your diamond blade? Did you think your tool would cut stone, marble, or other materials?
concrete or asphalt but can't even cut canned tuna?
We can say that more than 90% of the problems encountered when using diamond blades are caused by using them incorrectly for the material being cut.
But what are the causes and solutions if your disc DOESN'T CUT?
THE CAUSES could be three:
- Applying too much pressure to the material being cut causes the diamond part to polish.
- You are cutting a material that is too hard or vitrified causing a kind of smoothing of the diamond part.
- You're cutting a material with a diamond blade that's too hard. This is a classic case of using an asphalt diamond blade for cutting concrete.
- Before changing the disk, it is essential to check the peripheral speed at which it is working.
THE SOLUTIONS are as follows:
- Don't press during the cutting process and observe whether the diamond segment naturally renews itself. Try running your finger over the part of the diamond segment that's in contact with the material (wait for it to cool!), and you'll immediately notice whether the segment is smooth or rough. (The roughness indicates that the diamond has naturally emerged from its metal matrix.)
