Diamond Sectors for Floor Grinding: Which One to Choose
Having the right diamond sectors for floor sanders and a high-performance machine is essential. Concrete floor sanding is effective when two factors are of high quality. Diamond grit represents the size of each diamond within the sectors. This characteristic is essential to obtain the desired degree of finish. The use of diamond sectors for floor grinders with a low grit (e.g. 16/24) will guarantee greater bite, reducing the time needed to grind the floor. With diamond plates with a higher grit (e.g. 120) you will have a smoother and more polished surface.
Metal bond in diamond segments for grinding
The metal binder is the powder that contains and retains the diamond grain. The basic principle is the perfect compromise between the reduction of the binder and the exposure of the diamond. The metal binder varies based on the hardness and abrasiveness of the material that must be treated. For this reason, for the same grain, there will be diamond sectors for floor sanders with a soft binder or a hard binder. That is, greater retention of the diamond grain or greater release. The choice of the right binder is linked to the abrasiveness of the material. If a material is very abrasive, diamond sectors with a very hard binder are used.
